I was standing at the bar
at the twilite room
and blake the australian walks up
with a piece of billiards talc
breaks it in half and says
let’s write something on the walls
caught me offguard
but I was drunk
I went right over
and wrote radical indifference
beside the pay phone
I backed up, looked at it
and thought, hey,
that’s a pretty shitty concept, really
so I went back over
and wrote there’s no such thing
as an innocent bystander
we went upstairs
had another beer
came back down
had another beer
about an hour later
blake came back up
gave me a piece of chalk again
he was going around
making weird ass heiroglyphical markings all over
said it was aborigines
kept laughing at it
but he wouldn’t say what it meant
bullshit I bet
I squatted down and wrote
unlike reality
the future is bright
johnny chaos looked at carmen
and smiled
for the very first time
