I AM WRITING THIS FOR MY OWN BENEFIT AND
TO
SHARE WITH PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT I AM
TALKING
ABOUT...
HOPEFULLY YOU WILL FIND IT
INTERESTING AND
CONSIDER WHAT I HAVE TO SAY WITH AN OPEN
MIND
(and no, we hadn't been drinking)
First of all this is not a fictional story... it's a
memory of an
actual event that happened to me when I
was 17.
My best friend Kevin, and me and my
mom decided
to drive up to Kerville which is just
alittle
northwest of San Antonio for the
weekend. My
mother's boyfriend had a cabin up on the
Guadalupe
River. But before we left we had to stop
at our
favorite Mexican food restaurant, Olde
Mexico. I had
my usual... the tamale plate. Aiiiigh Carrumba!
After dinner, we were off on our
trip. Almost the
entire way we listened to Kevin and
mine's preferred
music tapes which drove my mother crazy!
She liked
country music! I think we played my
Journey tape at
least 5 times and The Cars over and
over.
We arrived at the cabin around 1:00am
and
immediately hit the sack. Whose wacky
idea was it to
leave at nighttime anyway? Hmmmm I can't
seem to
remember, but it could have been mine.
The next morning we awoke to the
sound of blue
jays and locusts. It was only 10:00 in
the morning
and already we could tell it was going
to be one of
those HOT TEXAS SCORCHERS in August.
Whew! Sweat is
just a way of life here.
My mom had
brought some
masks and fins so we snorkled most of
the day up and
down the Guadalupe. That evening we
played cards and
told ghost stories.
The next day we spend in Kerville.
Mom stayed at
the cabin and me and Kevin went to check
out the
antique stores. He bought me a ceramic
heart box for
my collection. The heat that day
was
relentless. I remember it was 103 and
we decided to
stop for ice cream. Lime sherbert for
me, Rocky Road
for him. Then we headed home
headbanging to my Van
Halen tape...David Lee Roth was GOD back
then.
Later that evening Kevin and I
decided to take the
canoe out and look at the stars. I
grabbed the
flashlight and we headed down to the
river.
So there
we were... SOBER... it was probably
about 10:30pm or
so and I noticed not too far off was an
airplane.
That's what it looked like. Two
headlights in the
front. It looked like a car coming
towards us in the
sky. I had the flashlight out and was
checking out
the rocks and canyon walls and began
flashing it
towards the airplane. Flashing it on
and off.
Before I could count to 10 that
"airplane" was over
our heads. That is when we had the
shock of our
lives. This was NO airplane.
This
thing was not
from here, and if it was it means the U.S.
Military is
completely lying to us about their
capabilities
regarding space flight. In my mind we
were looking
at a UFO and it was directly over our
freaking heads!
I still had the flashlight in my hand
shining up at
the underneath of the craft, and I heard
Kevin
hissing at me under his breath, "turn
that damn thing
off!" and I did, well actually it
dropped from my
hand making a huge banging noise as it
hit the canoe
floor. Our jaws were hanging on the
bottom of the canoe floor too probably.
This is what we saw. No
lights
underneath, only the two in front, like
headlights.
The color seemed dark grey with strange
square and
triangular shapes underneath. And how
could I tell?
Because it was only about 2 or 3 stories
above us.
Why didn't we get fried? Because there
was no heat
coming from it that we could notice.
It
made a quiet
whirring noise like it was in overdrive.
The thing
followed along the river like it was
following a
road. We watched it for about a minute
as it
continued up the river, and we could not
move. We
were like statues and my legs felt like
stone. I
remember thinking, "holy moly I'm damn
glad they
didn't beam us up". I am scared of that
crap.
Somehow Kevin manuvered the canoe
back towards the
cabin and we got out of the canoe saying
stuff to
each other like, "oh my God!!!!" and
"you saw the
same thing I did right?". Kevin's knees
were
knocking so badly he banged up his leg
getting up on
land. He was bleeding and I was
hyperventilating!
We ran up the hill to the cabin and
went bursting
in the door yelling to my mother what
had just
happened and do you know what she said?
She said,
"DAMN! I missed it!!!!" She completely
believed us.
She was so awesome.
But I assume we were white as ghosts and
we were babbling, wide eyed, etc. My brain was
overloading on
this information... what it all meant..
what it all
means...
As the years went on Kevin didn't
care to discuss
the event very much. He acted almost
like it didn't
even happen! I never understood that.
I always
wanted to talk about it.. go over it...
ponder the
possibilities and curse the government, stuff like that.
But Kevin died in 1991 of aids and my
mom passed away in 1996 so I am on my own with my memories of this
event in my
life that made a HUGE impact on me and
the way I
think about things. Because if this is true, then all sorts of other things could be true also. Things I dismissed in my mind before, had to be re-examined.
And you know what is the coolest thing about seeing something like this, it's when you tell people that you have seen a UFO and they give you "the look". Unless they have seen something too, you usually get "the look" ha ha! Translates into "you must be crazy", but the cool part is that you know you aren't. So I decided to
share with YOU
MY WEB FRIENDS because yall are very
important to me
and I felt the need to put this in
print. Thanks for your time and I would love to hear
your comments if
you have any.
