Well, it wasn't isulting to my intelligence, but I wasn't the only one expecting to see Joel and the 'Bots at the end.
Another shark shows up in Amity. The idiot mayor and the city council, of course, don't believe it. I mean, two shark attacks? Impossible! Anyway, one of the victims had been taking pictures, and one of them showed the shark. Chief Brody (not to be confused with Brodie from Mallrats or Marcus Brody from Indiana Jones) Shows the mayor and the council. Of course, they think he's nuts, and they're not seeing any sharks. Meanwhile, three people and a killer whale are dead because of it.
So, Brody gets fired, which is unfortunate, since now there's only two policee officers, but they still like him. Also, Brody's son Mike, who is grounded, took off with some friends to go boating, and he brought his younger brother with him. This is clearly a bad idea. Brody, Mrs. Brody and New Chief Hendricks go out to look for them, and they come across an empty boat. Brody looks around and finds Miss Teenage Amity hiding. She's very upset, since she had just watched her boyfriend get eaten. Mrs. Brody and Hendricks stay with her, and Brody heads off to find the kids. Fortunately, the police boat has a radio, so he radios for help. A helicoptor is sent to find the kids, which, of course, it does. Of course, the shark catches the helicoptor and pulls it under water, leaving the kids stranded, scared, and with one less friend. Brody shows up and immediately crashes the boat. Good thing he has the life raft.
Earlier in the movie, we got to see Brody and Hendricks look for the shark and accidentally pull up a power line. Well, now Brody pulls up a power line and tries to get the shark's attention. He succeeds and the shark charges, biting down on it and frying itself.
