Jaws 3-D

This one makes Jaws 2 look like a masterpiece.

So, Sea World is just about to open, and another shark shows up, eating an employee. Mike Brody and his girlfriend are working there, which I just don't see happening. I mean, Mike survived two shark attacks. Most people experience zero. Anyway, he's working at Sea World with his woman who I'm going to call Sue. Mike and Sue are surprise when Mike's little brother Sean (who has also survived two shark attacks) shows up. Meanwhile, no one knows what happened to the eaten employee yet. Oh yeah, I should also mention that Sea World is run by Louis Gossett Jr., whom I'll call Joe. There's also some prestigious foreign shark hunter guy and his assistant. I'll call the guy Red and his assistant Guido. So, the shark shows up and eats a guy. We don't actually see anything except the world's worst bluescreen. It was supposed to be one of the 3-D shots, but they made it not 3-D for video.

Well, they figure out there's a shark in the park, and Sue wants to capture it. Red wants to kill it. Joe doesn't care, since he's an idiot. They capture the shark, but it's a small great white. I guess it's a mediocre white. At any rate, it's a baby shark. Sue wants to keep it in a private out-of-the-way tank so she it can grow into a healthy shark, which would be great, since no one ever had a great white in captivity. Joe has other plans, though. He wants to show off his new shark, and despite what the qualified professional scientists say, he puts it on display where it promptly dies. It's not his fault, of course.

So, they finally discover the body of the first (and, so far, only) victim, and they determine that it was a shark attack. Judging by the bite radius, there is no way it could have been the dead baby shark, either. Of course, Joe doesn;t believe them unil the shark crashes through the window of the underwater dining room where he's sitting. Somewhere in there, Sean falls for Lea Thompson, who's name, for the purposes of this review, is Caroline. That has no real bearing on anything, but it's kind of funny that she's in this. Oh yeah, since the makers of this movie didn't think one victim was enough, they had the shark kill a couple guys that no one knew of or cared about. They were just kind of there and had no bearing on anything.

So, the main characters devise a plan in which Red and Guido trap the shark, and Mike and Sue fix the leaky underwater tunnel. Everything's going fine until Red's rope breaks and we kind of see him getting eaten. Then the shark breaks out of its trap and goes after Mike and Sue. The two dolphins, who you know were going to come into play, distract the shark so Mike and Sue can get away. Sine dolphins are endangered, the shark can't eat them, so he goes after the smaller, gamier humans, but it doesn't get them. Then, the shark breaks into the control room and gets stuck. This should kill the shark, what with its not being able to move forward, but it doesn't. In fact, it eats Joe's cousin. Mike sees Red's arm sticking out of the sharks mouth, and it has a grenade in its hand. Mike pulls the pin, and the shark blows up. Mike and Sue swim to the surface to look for the dolphins, and they get there eventually. There's a really bad freeze frame with horrible blue screen, and we rewind the movie.
