Mystery Men Review

Mystery Men Review

The review of Mystery Men started out innocently enough, but it wasn't long before disaster struck. Before even mentioning the title of the movie he was reviewing, the author went on a nostalgic trip to the past, explaining what it was about a character from a different comic book that he liked so much. Now, let's get real, here. When I read a review of a movie, I'm looking for a movie review, not some half-assed, sappy, touchy feely trip down memory lane.

Luckily, all that ended quickly, and the review is on. The author explains the basic premise of the movie, mentions a bunch of characters, and quickly moves of. He didn't actually say anything about the characters, aside from who played them and what their powers were. All I got from it was names, not characters.

He goes on to explain very briefly what happens in the story. This part covers all of 4 sentences. Is this really all? Sounds like a short movie, to me. I didn't get any kind of a feel for these people, and I can only really guess at what happened. He just tries to rehash what happened in as little space as possible. And then, he goes on to say how great a movie it is. If this movie's so good, why doesn't it get a decent review? Why can't he give me, the reader, an idea how good it is. He just says, "This movie is good." If he knew how to criticize a movie, he would have made us see how good it is without actually saying it.

All in all, I thought the review of Mystery Men on this site was lacking in everything. It said nothing about the movie. If anything, it told me why I need to see the X-Men movie. It was a horrible, horrible review.
