Street Fighter

Wanna know what's sad? This was Raul Julia's last movie. Let's take a moment of slience in his memory.

And now, the review. This movie, as you probably know, is based on the popular Street Fighter II video games (including, but not limited to Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II Turbo, Super Street Fighter II, and Street Fighter II Alpha). It stars the late Raul Julia as General M. Bison and Jean-Claude Van Damme as William F. Guile. As we know, Bill is short for William, making Guile's initials B.F.G. Guile is supposed to be an all-American soldier, which is hard, since Van Damme is very Belgian. He can't pull off an American accent at all. So, Bison is a Warlord trying to take over the world. Guile and the people at the A.N. (Allied Nations) re trying to stop him, and Mulan is a reporter who wants Bison's head. Bison turns Guile's friend, Blanka, into a big green monster, and he acts lie a complete ass. Guile infiltrates Bison's headquarters and there's a big fight. For some reason the whole place explodes, but no one knows why. The big Russian guy acts like an idiot. The Sumo guy and the boxer guy do their things. Cammie wears her trademark skintight outfit, and the good guys win. They tried to work in as many special moves as they could. There really was no plot, and there wasn't anything in the way of street fighting.

If anything, this moie only proves that Raul Julia was a great actor. He's the only one who never broke character, and while he knew the movie was bloody awful, hedid the best he could. He was a great villain and he knew it. Everyone else sucked.
