A simple trip
Not too long
Should have been simple
To belong
We had a beer
Just a sip
We all thought we knew
It wouldn't make a difference
We were having fun
We began to go
A little too fast
To control our toll
We felt a pull
Upon our eyes
And suddenly
The world went blank
A while later
I dont know when
I awoke in a room so dim
I didn't know where I was
A man in a white coat
Approached to tell
What had happened
To my friends
He said, "I'm sorry to report
Your friends are dead
And your chances are slim
We'll do the best we can to ease the pain."
Well I did survive
Though I wish I'd died
Now I'm stuck inside this chair
Without my friends
I went the day
They went away
And saw the pain
In their families eyes
I'll tell you now
Never again will I touch
A can of poison
Or be so blind
