Scent of magnolias
softly carried by the breeze.
Silvered moonlight
trickling through the trees.
Fireflies aloft
dancing here and there.
Ah, bayou nights
nothing else can compare.
Stillness of black waters
here in the bayou land;
far removed from man
and his destructive hand.
Cypress trees sway
in the cooling winds.
Spanish moss draping
from the branches' ends.
Moonlight and magnolias,
awaken senses deep ~
heaven here on earth,
a secret to keep.
Come with me this night,
to this haven divine,
moonlight and magnolias ~
Nature's sweetest rhyme.
