Ares

"Like I said before I am Ares, the God of War and I am a interrogate character to the show, played by Kevin Smith (apparently from New Zealand). I like to run freely between Xena and Hercules, tormenting both, but with a sexual lust for Xena (can you blame me). I am basically always plotting to turn Xena from Warrior Princess to Warrior Queen."
"I have also been on a Hercules episode that also included an apperance by Xena and Gabby, the Episode "Judgement Day" however is still a Herc episode and has not been added into the Episode List. One other note, Kevin Smith also plays Hercules half-brother, which is interesting because I am also supposed to be a Half Brother of Hercules."

Kevin Smith

Kevin Tod Smith was born on March 3, 1963 in Auckland, New Zealand.

He married his childhood sweetheart, Susie and they now have 3 sons. Their youngest son, Willard Halstead Smith, was born on October 6, 1997.

Kevin became interested in acting by accident, he suffered a concussion while playing rugby in college. While he was forced to sit on the sidelines for several weeks, his wife, Sue saw a casting ad for the touring company of "Are You Lonesome Tonight", an Elvis Presley musical tribute. She signed Kevin up for an audition, and he landed the part of one of the bodyguards and was also the understudy to the lead.

Kevin soon gained an impressive list of credit in film, television and theater. Starring in many stage productions like: "A Streetcar Named Desire", "Cabaret", "Othello", "Into the Woods" and "Glengarry Glen Ross".

He also starred in several New Zealand hit television series: "Gloss", "Marlin Bay" and "Shortland Street".

Portraying Ares isn't the first time that Kevin played a 'bad boy'. Kevin starred as a bad boy on "Marlin Bay", earning him a New Zealand Film & Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1995.

His film credit includes "Desperate Remedies", which gained international attention in Cannes.

Kevin's interest and talent also lies in music, he's played in numerous alternative rock bands in New Zealand, currently being a lead singer in "The Wide Lapels".

Kevin and Sue currently make their home in Auckland with their three young boys.

"Hey, the guy that takes credit for my part in the show has a pretty cool life."
