Lucy McGehee
Lucy McGehee was
born to James and Jane McGehee in the year 1818 in Tennessee. She
was married in August of 1836 in Illinois to Benjamin Campbell..
Benjamin was born in Indiana. When the rest of her family moved
South to Missouri she did not go with them from what we can tell.
She and her husband moved North in the later 1830s or early 40s,
to
Bureau County Illinois and bought land there.
On the Bureau County Illinois census for 1850 we can find Jacob McGehee living here in Bureau county with his sister and brother in law. Jacob bought land there very near his sister's family in 1850 along with a man named William McGehee.
Here is a transcription of the marriage licence for Ben and Lucy.

This County (looks like ss) Robert C McGeehee being duly sworn
says that Jane McGeehee mother of the said Lucy McGeehee consents
to the marriage of the said Lucy McGeehee with Benjamin Campbell
and that the said Jane McGeehee arthorised him the dependant (?)
to signify his (?) consent to the said marriage to the Clerk of
the county ( can't read the next three words) court of said
county.
Sworn and subscribed before me on this ? day of Aug 1836

Ben and Lucy had one child that I am currently aware of, his name was Benjamin F Campbell and he was born in 1847 in Illinois.
