Pleasant McGehee was born in 1805 to James and Jane McGehee in the state of Tennessee. He was involved in the marking of a road in Lincoln county Tennessee in 1820, along with James McGehee (porbably his father) and someone named Matthew McGehee, which we know nothing about.

He married Ellander ? and they had the following children:

• Easter J McGehee, bn 1828 in Tennessee

• William McGehee, bn 1830 in Tennessee

• Mary McGehee, bn 1834 in Illinois

• Elijah McGehee, bn 1837 Missouri

• Henry McGehee, bn 1834 in Missouri

• Pleasant McGehee Jr., bn 1847

• Samantha McGehee, bn 1847

Pleasant McGehee lived in Tennessee (probably around Lincoln county Tenn) with his father from his birth until about 1830 at which time he moved to Morgan County Illinois. From there his course was probably north to Knox county Illinois aslo with his father. We find him next in 1840 in Lawrence county Illinois living near his mother, Jane McGehee. His father probably died about 1833 in Knox county Illinois.

We know that by 1837 he was living in Missouri because that is the year and state in which Elijah was born. Pleasant McGehee died sometime before 1860 in Missouri.
