Rei lives with her grandfather at Hikawa Jinja (Cherry Hill Shrine) where she spends most of her time.
Yuuichirou (Chad) also stays at the shrine, learning from Rei's Grandfather and helping Rei with the chores. Yuuichirou likes Rei and she likes him back although she rarely shows it, usually just bossing him around instead.
Rei goes to the T*A Private Girls' School where is extremely popular with the rest of the students but becomes friends with the new exchange student, who she decides to take under her wing.
It turns out that the exchange student is Terra Mackenzie, Sailor Earth.
She also gets along well with the rest of the senshi except for the occasional spat with Usagi. The fights are usually over Usagi borrowing comics or over how clusmy and dimwitted she thinks Usagi is. However, their fights are tame compared Usagi and Terra's.
Rei also has one unusual ability. Rei has many premonitions and visions which tend to be true more often than not.
