Darien is a college student, who was orphaned as a child. He is 20 years old, he's handsome, he's passionate and caring, he's a jerk at first, and his life would seem to be alright now, except that he is the boyfriend of Serena; and as the smooth and poetic masked hero Tuxedo Mask, he is the protector of her alter ego SailorMoon.


At the beginning of the series, he is a jerk, and uncaring about anything in particular. But then SailorMoon comes into his life, and changes everything. Darien seems to be a kind and gentle man most of the time, but he is also strong and very passionate. Tuxedo Mask will sacrifice himself to protect his friends, especially SailorMoon and SailorChibiMoon. He's very loyal and patient towards Serena; still, he's sometimes self-centered and may often be arrogant, not to mention words fail him every once in a while, but he means well most of the time. In the SuperS season, he also has to play daddy to future daughter ChibiUsa, and he shines like no character in the season. SailorStars is not his year, however: First he gets cursed and kidnapped by Nehelenia, and later is killed by Galaxia for his StarSeed. But at the end he comes back to life, and ChibiChibi guides him back to the arms of his beloved Serena.

He has no special attacks in the anime series, but seems to be an strong and agile fighter. His cane, however, can be used as a weapon, and it may also serve as a shield. As a defense, he throws red roses, which stun and annoy enemies.

The masked saviour, Darien. Darien's b'day is August 3rd. He loves Serena; he likes Rini a lot. He likes to munch on chocolate, and he likes to read, and to wear masks. He dislikes evildoers trying to destroy the world, and breaking his family apart; and also Serena getting bad grades or embarassing him in public. (He has a tough life) He resents having to be stuck with the dinner bill, but is too nice to say "no." His color is black. His dream is to see the Earth being a happy place.
