Chibi Usa first appears in Sailor Moon by falling out of the sky and landing on Usagi's head. She comes from the city of Crystal Tokyo in the 30th century. She travelled back in timeto search for the silver imperium crystal so that she could save her mother, who happens to be Usagi, the future queen Serenity.
With the help of Sailor Moon and friends, she defeats the Nega-Moon and saves her mother. Chibi Usa then reappears later as Sailor Chibi Moon after she is sent back in time again by her mother to train with the other scouts.

Chibi Usa goes to Minato-ku Juuban Elementary School with Hotaru (Saturn) who happens to be one of Chibi Usa's good friend. Setsuna is also found of Chibi Usa's and calls her small Lady. All the other scouts like her as well although Usagi tends to think she is quite irritating at times.

Like Usagi, Chibi Usa has a guardian cat named Diana. Diana is the daughter of Luna and Artemis visiting from the future. This caused quite some confusion when she first appeared as Artemis was accused of sleeping around.
Diana is much like her father in that she is rather happy-go-lucky although she can be quite serious when she wants. Most often she can be foud sitting atop Chibi Usa's head, enjoying the view.
