1998 Asian Cup Winners' Cup

   Stoichkov was on a loan to the Saudi club.His deal was reported to be $200,000 for two matches in April 1998.
   Hristo played in the semi-final and the final of the Asian Cup Winners' Cup tournament.In the first match versus Turkmenistan's Kopetdag Al Nasr won 2:1.Hristo was dragged down by the Kopetdag goalkeeper and won a penalty,which he missed three minutes later.Seven minutes later Stoichkov started the move,which saw Muhaisen Jumaan Al Dossary score.
   In the second and last game Hristo played for Al Nasr-the final for the Asian Cup Winner's Cup,he scored the only goal of the match in the 12th minute,thus bringing the Saudi team the Asian title.

     Bulgarian big-shot

     Hristo Stoichkov, footballing mercenary par excellence, was drafted into the
     Al-Nassr team for the semi-final and the final of the Asian SuperCup. 

     The veteran Bulgarian striker and former European Footballer of the Year missed a
     penalty in the semi against Coptrang of Turkistan. 

     But Al-Nassr still scraped through to the final, where Stoichkov redeemed
     himself by scoring the only goal of the game against South Korean team
     Samsung. 

     Stoichkov's successful two-match stint with the club earned him a one-off payment of £130,000. 

     The Bulgarian's short-term recruitment is not the first time Al-Nassr have drafted in
     star players to help them for big matches.....
