I have been a fan of Victor Tsoi for a while now. I like the type of simple rock that revolutionized the 80's in the former USSR. Personaly I think that Victor Tsoi was one of the greatest ever to play the guitar. Not only was he the lead singer of the band Kino, but he was also the songwriter, the one that named all of the songs and albums, and most important a spiritual leader of the band. I personaly believe that he set a precedent for all other greats that the notes are not the most important thing in your music, it's the lyrics that make the difference. One can see what I mean when they listen to Vitya's lyrics. I always used to say that one would have to listen to it and make out something out of it, that is whatever suits you right is fine. And I can say that I can find myself in most of his songs simply because he sings about life in general. It's the little things that really count. |
This is my cousin Tolik, the one who introduced me to Kino and eventually Victor Tsoi. He himself is a self taught guitarist and has been a fan of Kino forever. |
