An interesting look into the hap-hazzard lives of Hollywood wannabe's, has-beens, and almost-was', Sugartown is brilliantly written and portrayed by the star-studded cast. Allison Anders' well-known style for finding the extraordinary in the somewhat could be callous characters is divinely present in this film. This film received many rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival this year, and is expected to be released in October of 1999.
This is a story about several lives in Hollywood. Actresses who are looking to find their mark in the business, and who will go at any lengths to get there. Has-been rock-n-roller (Clive, played by John Taylor, top) is trying to resurge into the music business, while his wife (played by Rosanna Arquette) is worried about her own careeer. Sugartown is quick-witted, funny, and sublime. This movie can easily become an Anders' classics.
