The CocoaBean Memorial Page
Just last night (February 2, 2000) our wonderful little CocoaBean was tragically killed in a hit and run accident on our nearby farm-to-market road. His "daddy" was my 10 year old (human) son Jordan, who misses him very much, as we all do. He was the father of 14 puppies (and possibly more soon)and lived for 3 short years. His favorite place to sleep was with Jordan and his favorite place to nap was in my lap. (I'm the mom:) His MOST favorite lounging place was wherever my late husband would watch TV or sleep. When he died last September, CocoaBean sat on Dad's couch pillow for a week and slept on his bed pillow until I finally had to wash the pillow case! Now they are together in eternity. "Cokie" was very spoiled, but was a brave, adventurous country dog. He is survived by his wife, Prissy; ex-wife Pootsie; three daughters - DuhBaby, VanillaBean (Vanna), and his little "clone" puppy Solo (who will be living with us forever, now, I guess:) He loved his afternoon romps around our property and had only recently begun going outside the fence and across the road. CocoaBean learned this habit (or at least began to realize that there were 'other Chihuahua women' out there :) after a near loss of him just two weeks before his death. We had taken him to our little downtown shop and while we were at lunch, he escaped through an unsecured back door. He returned three hours later; after much searching, calling, and the local police putting out an 'all points bulliten'! We will miss him. Just as we miss 'Dad'. But we are happy to know that at least for now, they are together, and that someday, we will see them again. Dad always said that CocoaBean was the only one (of our 5 Chihuahuas) that was "smart enough to sit still and relax and not bark his silly head off at everybody that moved!" :) :)
