He's an Oklahoma-born wordsmith who transplanted himself to the Big Apple and found himself a nice little writing career. He's beyond fabulous. His first book, Men My Mother Dated (and Other Mostly True Tales) will be published in spring 2000. There are excerpts on the site. He's witty and insightful; just this side of brilliant. If you like your celebrity gossip and blind items served up steaming hot with heapin' helpings of wit, then don't be late for a meal at Fametracker, which bills itself as "the Farmer's Almanac of Celebrity Worth." Utterly silly This to That: Need to glue a glass thingie to a ceramic thingie? Go here to see what kind of glue you need in darned near any eventuality. Maybe not utterly silly, but certainly designed for one of the narrowest demographics I can fathom. Stupid.com: Very stupid merchandise, games, jokes and more -- like stupid pasta. For sale are disgusting things, such as the $3.99 scorpion candy "InsectNside," which is a hunk of candy that looks like a bar of glycerin soap with a real scorpion inside. There's the reproduction electric chair that goes for $1,095. And my personal favorite, "Titanic-Bot," a toy ocean liner that transforms into a robot ($7.99). Wait, I just found "Choka Ca Ca" candy that comes in its own diaper ($4.99 -- in pink, blue or yellow packaging). There are lots of photos of all this stuff. But the ad copy is the real draw for me.
