Um....okay, major update needed. I've been a busy little girl. How'd I do on my goals for last semester? Check it out:
- Make A's in every class. (Nope. Sadly.)
- Secure an internship/assistantship/second job. (Did all 3, sorta...)
- Study for the GRE. (Sorta. Took a Mock GRE.)
- Study for the Psych GRE. (Nope.)
- Research more graduate programs in psychology. (Yep.)
- Make effort to keep up with readings. (Not even close.)
- Perfect attendance. (Nope.)
- Write in all my journals. (Nope.)
- Have fun. (Eh...not really...)
- Tentative goal: make friends within my majors. (Sorta.)
- Tentative goal: join major-related organization. (Yep. Joined Psi Chi.)
Well, the internship with Collegium was a lot of fun. Here are a few of the things I wrote or helped on: Cougar Profiles and Translation: Poetry. I hope to return to this position in the summer or fall of this year.
This semester, I'm a research assistant with the Interpersonal Relations and Motivation Research Group. It's been pretty interesting, seeing how a study is run. Entering the data is not quite as interesting, but I am so nuts about data that it's not bad at all. I'm hoping to retain this assistantship as well, through the summer at least.
As I stated above, I joined Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology. I was too busy to get involved last semester, but I'm trying to be super-involved this time around. I'm also hoping to run for the office of Secretary or Vice President for the next academic year. Thanks to my absolutely anal-retentive personality, I think I can fulfill the duties of Secretary especially well. So we'll see.
This summer, aside from keeping busy with the internship/assistantship positions (I hope), I will also be taking classes again. I'm probably going to be working on my senior honors thesis for the 2003-2004 academic year, if the Honors College approves my application, and I should be ready to graduate by May 2004.
This means I will still be living on campus, party to the odd habits of my suitemate for a whole 'nother year. *sigh*
Oh, yeah. I'm still working on all the grad school stuff (GRE, researching, applying), and I think I've narrowed down a list of schools I'd be interested in attending. However, I was just recently advised by some grad students and a professor, so I am probably going to be ADDING to that list. All I can say is, I really hope I don't have to go somewhere cold...or some school that requires too many morning classes. Ugh.
I met the Hash Brown Goal long ago--still collecting for it, though. Helen
