Golda Violet Druery, daughter of John and Sarah Wilson Druery, was born at Sterling, Nebraska, July 10, 1885. She was one of ten children.
When she was five years old the family moved to near Nemaha. Three years later her father passed away. Golda grew up and went to school in the Nemaha Community, where she was to live almost all of her life.
On May 21, 1902 she was united in marriage to Birl Nelson Curttright. The ceremony was performed by Judge Neal at the Courthouse in Auburn. Two children were born to this marriage: a daughter, Margie Josephine, who died at the age of 14 months, and a son, Ora, who survives. Mr. Curttright died October 15, 1957. Since his death Mrs. Curttright has continued to spend most of her time in Nemaha except for a brief time when she lived in Auburn.
Mrs. Curttright entered the Northview Care Center in Falls City last month. On Thursday, the 24th of May, she was moved to the Falls City Hospital, where she passed away the following afternoon, May 25, 1973, having reached the age of 87 years, 10 months, and 15 days.
In addition to her husband and infant daughter, Mrs. Curttright was preceeded in death by her parents, four brothers, and five sisters.
She is survived by her son, Ora D. Curttright of Nemaha, a number of nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.
