Born Dec. 28, 1906 in Crocket County, Tenn., son of the late William Thomas and Linie Campbell Summers, he had lived in the Dexter area many years and was a carpenter and painter. He was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church of Dexter.
On March 4, 1927, at Blytheville, Ark., he married Ora Lee Elder, who survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, Coy Summers, Max Summers, Bill Summers and Buford Summers of Dexter; two daughters, Joyce Summers and Connie Summers of Dexter; two brothers, George Summers of Blytheville, Ark., and Willard Summers of Oklahoma; four sisters, Nettie and Jennie of Blytheville, Lee Dora of Paragould, Ark.; and Tootsie of Little Rock Ark,; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Rainey Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillips Dees officiating.
Burial will follow in Dexter Cemetery.
