Burial was in Cambria district cemetery under direction of Palmer-Waters Chapel, Cayucos.
Mrs. Whitman, 72, died Saturday in a Palo Alto hospital after a long illness. She came to Cambria two years ago after 28 years in Salt Lake City. She was born in Baldwin City, Kas., Feb. 20, 1895.
Survivors include her husband, Clifford O. Whitman, of Pine Knolls, a son, Douglas Wilson and a sister, Mrs. Mattie Stanley, both of San Luis Obispo; three brothers, Ed L. Messinger of Braddyville, Iowa; James Carpenter of Tacoma, Wash., and L.W. Carpenter of Wichita, Kas.
