DEATH OF N.L. COPPESS

 

Noah L. Coppess was born in Dark County, Ohio April 29, 1857, and when but a child he came with his parents to Jones county, and here in the vicinity of Olin he grew to manhood, and lived his earthly life.

 

He was married to Miss Syloretta Miller, April 13, 1879.  To this union three children were born.  They were Guy and Elmer Coppess, of Olin, and Mrs. Alma Curttright, of Wyoming, Mrs. Coppess having passed to the great beyond June 7, 1910.

 

He leaves to mourn his going away, his three children, his aged mother, three brothers and four sisters - C.W. Coppess and J.W. Coppess, of Olin; Mrs. Matilda Bleasdell, of Lewisville, Montana; Mrs. Clara Wilson, of Stanwood, Iowa; Mrs. Flora Conley, of Hale, Iowa; and Mrs. Dorothy Colby, of Jefferson, Iowa, besides many other relatives and friends who join with the children in their feelings of deep loss and sorrow.

 

Mr. Coppess has been in failing health for two years, but the end came as the result of a stroke and paralysis a few days ago, and on November 16, 1919, he peacefully passed away, at the age of 62 years, 6 months and 18 days.

 

Mr. Coppess was a man who was strictly honest in all his business matters and had the confidence of all who knew him.

 

The funeral was held at the U.B. church yesterday forenoon, conducted by Rev. Dillavou, assisted by Rev. Williams.  The interment was in the Olin cemetery.
