  • First player to win MVP awards in both leagues--NL in 1961, AL in 1966.

  • Won the Triple Crown in 1966--49 HR, 122 RBI, .316.

  • 586 career home runs, fourth all-time behind Aaron, Ruth and Mays.

  • Led the NL in slugging, 1960-62.

  • Hit two home runs in the 1966 World Series, including the only run scored in game four. Appeared in five World Series in all--1961, 1966, 1969-71.

  • Won two Manager of the Year awards--1982 with the Giants and 1989 with the Orioles.

  • Holds the major league record for hitting home runs in the most ballparks.

  • Played in six All Star games for the NL and five for the AL.

  • Won the Rookie of the Year award in 1956 when he hit 38 home runs, a then-major league record for a rookie. He also led the league in runs (122) that year.

  • Was also the first player to hit a home run in the All Star game for each league, the first player to hit 200 homers in each league.

  • Robinson was the first black manager in baseball history with the Cleveland Indians in 1975, and the first black manager in the NL in 1981 with the Giants.

  • Homered in his first at-bat as player-manager of the Indians, 1975.

  • Was the first player to have his number retired by the Orioles.

  • Elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982.
