  • Hit 30 or more home runs in 9 consecutive seasons, a National League record.

  • As Braves teammates, Mathews and Hank Aaron combined for 863 home runs, the greatest one-two power hitting combo in the history of baseball.

  • In 1952, Mathews was the first rookie to ever homer three times in one game.

  • Led the league in homers twice.

  • Led the league in walks four times.

  • Scored at least 95 runs in 10 consecutive seasons.

  • Won game four of the 1957 World Series with a tenth inning homer. Scored the only run in game five of the series. Also made the last out of game seven with a tremendous catch of a Bill Skowron line drive.
