Open The Day Softly
The night flows gently into morning,
shadows slip away like skaters on a moonlit pond
and
...I vow that today I'll open the day softly.
The sun overflows the horizon,
meeting the sky in majesty like the cymbals in a great symphony
and
...I vow that today I'll open my senses simply.
The trees intermingle with shady glens,
colors blending and merging like butterflies on a giant artist's palette
and
...I vow that today I'll open my eyes clearly.
The day projects harmony,
cares of yesterday rush into the past like confetti in a whirlwind
and
...I vow that today I'll open my heart cheerfully.
The music inspires and lifts my soul,
fleeting, floating fragile as a web...mighty as the rock of gibraltar
and
...I vow that today I'll open my ears joyfully.
The friends emerge and encircle,
giving, receiving, meshing like cogs on the wheel of life
and
...I vow that today I'll open my arms quickly.
The evening star relinquishes it's hold on night,
another unending link is forged by the Master's hand
and
...I vow that today I'll close my eyes thankfully.
