Artist's Statement.....As we traveled through the 70's, peace in my family became our motto. My father had just come home from fighting in Vietnam. The hand raised to form a
V meant not only the safe return of those men and women still over there, but the fact that my Father would not hve to return to Vietnam for a third tour.
Peace V With Thee symbolizes all of the hopes for continued peace in our nation. The fractured black represents the families shattered by any war and the hand is the human element. When peace is achieved the confetti flies. I hope this Works!.........Jane Johnston, Bel Air, Maryland

These Boots Are Made for Walking

Artist's Statement
Well, I know the song is actually from the 60's but I really had those white boots and fishnet hose which earned me the nickname BOOTS from my soon to be husband.
The quilt is about power rather than relationships. If you don't like where you are, only you can change it. We have the power to do so, it just takes the courage......Phyllis Nelms
