Why send an officer away for training, spending hundreds or even thousands
of dollars, only to discover the course did not satisfy your needs? Our
trainers come to you and provide instruction for dozens of your officers at
a fraction of the cost of sending them away for training. Let us do the
traveling and reduce overtime and shift shortages from scheduling around
out of town employees.
Don't settle for generic, canned programs that do not completely meet your
needs. OUR TRAINING IS ALWAYS CUSTOMIZED TO FIT YOUR NEEDS
IN FOUR UNIQUE WAYS:
COST: Most law enforcement agencies in the U.S. have less than 50 officers.
We are committed to providing low-cost, quality training to the smallest of
departments. Before you decide you can not afford on-site training, call us for
a quote. You can host a course, charging other departments a registration fee to
recoup some or all of your expenses. Programs can be modified to create a customized
course you can afford.
CONTENT: The actual instructor will always discuss the course with you well in
advance, reviewing any departmental procedures, local customs, and state laws that
should be considered in the training presentation. When you send officers away for
training, they may be taught tactics contrary to your procedures or local laws. Don't
settle for training that requires your officers to pick and choose what is relevant
to their situation. It is not unusual for our instructors to contact your local
prosecutor and other agencies, and with your permission, your own supervisors and
officers, to obtain different perspectives that make our training more effective for you.
CREATIVE SCHEDULING: It is difficult to free officers from duty to attend training.
Overtime costs are also a concern. We can help by offering day or evening courses,
split or repeat sessions. We will work with you to arrange the course so the maximum
number of officers can attend at the lowest price cost.
CONSULTATION: Many of our courses include the unique feature of combining training
with assessment of your current policies, procedures, and practices. Training and
policy go hand in hand. One requires the other.

RACIAL PROFILING: RHETORIC OR REALITY? OUR NEWEST COURSE! (8 hours)
No other issue in the last three decades has focused attention on police practices like "racial profiling."
In the past year, marches, rallies, legislation, and a glut of media attention has all but condemned American law enforcement
as racially biased and unethical. Is allegations of racial profiling outrageous rhetoric or an unfortunate reality? This course
reviews the controversy and allegations and sets the standard for officer conduct to insure citizens are treated fairly. The emphasis of the course
is need for ethical and professional behavior by police officers in every situation with every individual. Significant time is spent on officer-citizen interactions.
Rather than condemn American law enforcement as a
whole, the course takes the approach of "perception is reality." Even if an agency believes it does not have a problem with this issue, it most
certainly serves citizens who think it is a problem. This course is definitely a proactive step in dealing with a extremely sensitive concern.
PROACTIVE PATROL (20-24 hours)
This course helps patrol officers and supervisors learn that "doing the things right"
has as much impact on effectiveness as "doing things right." This is a fast paced seminar
filled with practical techniques for dealing with today's street crime problems. The focus
is on crime fighting through proven tactics, quick assessment and response to developing
trends and getting the most out of patrol officers.
This course is a must for agencies adopting or using community-oriented policing and are
uncertain how COP fits into their roles as law enforcers. The need to incorporate active
enforcement techniques and other problem-solving methods into COP will be discussed.

COMMUNITY POLICING: WHY ALL THE FUSS? (16 hours)
Community policing is a simple concept that is terribly misunderstood by
most officers on the street (and many chiefs and sheriffs). What is it? Is it
soft on crime? Is it just a public relations gimmick? Why are so many officers
indifferent or even opposed to it when they're not even sure what community
policing is? If your agency is just implementing COP or tried and met resistance
or failure, this is the course for you.

BURGLARY & ROBBERY FOR PATROL OFFICERS (16-24 hours)
Virtually every police and sheriff's department in this country faces a
burglary problem. With a national clearance rate of only 13%, we must be doing
something wrong. To be more effective, we must encourage patrol officers to
aggressively pursue preliminary investigations. Proactive tactics by patrol
officers have also been effective in reducing burglary. If you want your
officers to merely be "report takers," this is not the class for them. When
officers complete the course, they will be able to complete better preliminary
investigations and followups, better understand the need for proper evidence
collection, and utilize more effective tactics to prevent burglary.
Robbery is also a chronic problem in America. This portion of the course
focuses on preventive tactics, investigative techniques, and officer safety issues.
Each attendee will receive a copy of the instructor's book, Burglary for the
Patrol Officer.

HEALTH & WELLNESS AWARENESS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS (24 hours)
Law enforcement agencies are realizing the need for improvement in health and
physical fitness among their employees. Absenteeism from illness and injury
often reach epidemic proportions in some departments. Overweight, out of shape
officers are a hazard to themselves and others. Yet, few departments are willing
to establish physical fitness standards or mandatory exercise programs. This
course provides an alternative. Relieve some of your liability burden by teaching
officers how to improve their health. In addition to the classroom instruction,
attendees are provided comprehensive physical fitness assessments with specific,
practical recommendations for improvements.
