The premier musical for the Guild proved to be a valuable
learning experience. We never did a dress rehearsal
or even a full run of the show until opening night.
That was not entirely our fault, as our plans didn't
always match the plans of the folks who owned the
theatre we were using. The night prior to our first
performance (at St. Agnes) we were told that we could
not rehearse because the school needed the auditorium.
Not only did we have to strike our entire set the night
before opening night and then rebuild it the next day,
but many of our set pieces and props were destroyed
and had to be reconstructed at the last minute.
Wynne Kloskey was an excellent director and
both nights of this four and a half hour production
were close to sell outs. Cathy LaBuda was our
Music Director.
