Book by Dale Wasserman
Don Quixote de la Mancha
is the story of a poor
gentleman of La Mancha, a
bare and monotonous plateau
of central Spain. He read so
many of the exaggerated
romances of chivalry of his
day that he finally believed
them to be true. One day he
set forth himself as a
knight-errant on his old horse,
Rosinante, and headed into the
many misadventures that
makes this a classic
musical.
After the Guild suffered some losses due to the high
production costs of Annie Get Your Gun, we
found the purse strings to be a bit tight for this
production. Although there wasn't much money
available, everyone pitched in and put together a show
which had a much more serious side than our previous
musical. And while this show had its share of production
problems, it made everyone realize just what
we were capable of doing and that no dream is
impossible if we all work together. This idea
encompasses the Guild philosophy.
