I wont get in to much into this movie cause in my opinion it didnt just feel like a Jet movie and it's not. In Lethal Weapon 4, he is a triad leader importing Chinese immigrants to the US to work as slaves and make counterfeit money to bail his "Four Fathers" which includes his brother. Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Murtaugh (Danny Glover) accidently ran into the ship that was carrying the Chinese immigrants and was involved with the case. This is where Riggs and Murtaugh encounter on a few but short fight scenes with Jet. The encounter at Murtaugh's house where he beats the living hell out of Riggs and then the gun trick he did was worth the purhase of this movie.
Unfortunaly the only part of the movie worth watching is the appearance of Jet Li. I mean the only humor going down was Chris Rock, which was a nice addition but Joe Pesci...sigh. Hollywood, however, was couldn't capture Jet's martial art skill completely and had to slow down the film because Mel Gibson could not match up Jet's fighting speed. Corey Yuen did a great job with the fight choreography. Most importantly, Jet's acting skill is well demonstrated here. As mentioned earlier, Jet has never been a bad guy in a movie, his performance here as a villain was so cold, brutal and lethal. Which brings me to the question? How the hell did two old farts able to get the best of Jet at the end? That ending killed the movie. Okay Okay, even though Lethal Weapon 4 does not showcase Jet to its fullest potential, it is however, enough to bring high praises from the American audience. Because everyone loves Mel and Danny right?? And everyone watched Lethal Weapon movies right?? Anyhow, this movie puts Jet in a great situation to shine in America. I rate this a 3 out of 10
