The Children

That's me in with the kids out on a road somewhere. As we would learn, this was a very dangerous thing to do. We started to receive intelligence reports that the VC were using children as walking booby-traps. By pulling the pin and placing the grenade under their arms, they would tell the kid's to walk up to the crowd, and put their arms up in welcome. The grenade would fall out, killing or hurting everyone around them.- Jim Radetzky
