ALL WORKING OUT
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose"
(Romans 8:28).

Why do bad, or evil things, happen to Christians? It would seem that because one is a Christian, a believer on the Lord Jesus Christ, i.e. a child of God, that on that basis one who knows God as their God and Father would enjoy a life that would be devoid of the problems and situations that generally unbelieving sinners experience in their lives. Nevertheless, it is a fact that the people of God do experience bad and evil things; and sometimes, even worse that those who have no fear of God, and don't live for God. Of course, all we have to do is read the Bible, and/or hear the testimonies of those that truly love God, and we'll see that this is true. Yes, you yourself, and I, can testify to this. Amen?

Perhaps at this moment you're going through much suffering and tears; or maybe things just are not working right in your life; or maybe you might even 'feel' God has forsaken you, etc. (whatever it might be), to the point that you are sure you're at the end of the rope. Let me give you a word "of faith and of good doctrine" (1 Timothy 4:6): 1) Do you love God? 2) Do you believe that God has called you according to His purpose in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 3:11,12)? If you can say YES, then, beloved of the Lord, "know that all things work together for good"; or as another translation puts it, "God will work all things together for (your) good". Yes, you might be going through the fire, or seem to be "drowning" in your situations, yet remember: "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle kindle upon thee" (Isaiah 43:2), it will be for your good; and what greater good is there than "to be conformed to the image of (God's) Son", the Lord Jesus Christ, for which we have been predestinated (Romans 8:29); "for even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps" (1 Peter 2:21). Amen!
