BAALEK SONGHEART AND THE HEROES OF THE BROKEN OAR
Baalek Songheart, formerly of the Johnston Leahy Band, decided to form a light rock group known as the Heroes of the Broken Oar after leaving his previous engagement. He is well known for his harp playing, and his harp solo from "The Ballad of the Pales" is still one of the most talked-about solos of all time. The band has suffered losses, though, most notably the untimely death of their original drummer, Shurakai (he was replaced by Vicacius), their original rhythm guitarist, and several of their bass players. Songs include "Tales of the Heroes," "Lament for Thain," and the group's epic concept album, "Ballad of the Pales," which included the singles "Gift of the Valar" and "Legend of Gorgoroth."
