Castle Rimmersmoore is the capital of the kingdom of Rhodesia. Over five hundred years old, it was built atop the ruins of an even older castle, which itself was built over a castle older still. While little is known about the cultures who built these earlier castles, historians believe that there has been a structure where Castle Rimmersmoore stands for at least 1200 years.
Besides being the seat of power in the kingdom, the castle is also home to the ruling monarch, King Malleck Tasseth. The Tasseth dynasty has ruled the castle for the past two hundred years, after taking it from an earlier dynasty, the Rielseine Clan. King Malleck is just and wise, and though he is a childless widower his line will nevertheless continue, as the heirs to the throne are the children of King Malleck's cousin.
Castle Rimmersmoore stands atop the Daltyn's Peak, high in the Aldiscene Mountain range. Just to the north of the castle, nestled in the valley below the peak, is the village of Rimdal, the castle's chief source of food and goods. Rimdal was named after the first Tasseth king, Rimmer Tasseth, for whom the castle is also named.
