Game Notes: A Para-Sonar pistol fires a high frequency ultra-sonic beam which disrupts the equilibrium and nervous systems of humanoid targets. Because the target must be struck in the head for the beam to be effective, there is a -2 penalty the shooter's to-hit roll. Helmets provide effective protection against the Para-Sonar; open helmets provide +1D protection and enclosed helmets give +2D; other armor has no effect. Also note the weapon is effectively silent to human ears.

History: This is the weapon that turned the Varen Company from a criminal weapon production facility into a respectable business. The targeted consumers, assassins, didn't like the bulk and tripod, so Varen tried selling it to military groups, who found great uses for it. Varen used the money to turn the company away from criminals, and towards military groups, although some of their stuff still manages to find it's way to the criminals.

History: Designed before the SAM, this starfighter was built for assassins. Designed to get anywhere quickly, and hit before the intended target knew what was coming. Uses the laser technology from the B-Wing. Very few are in use due to high prices, but those that are have been very affective.

History: Mainly bought and used by Doono Craft, one of the crimelords that decided to stick to crime. He let's all his pilots who smuggle things for him use these ships, of course taking some out of their paycheck. Eventually he will let you buy one. Doono uses them for their speed, a means to avoid any Imperial entanglements, seeing as how all his cargo is illegal. If any smuggling runs are made with him, he forces you to use these ships, or something faster if you got it.

History: The Stiletto was the primary ship of the Shoran assassins for many years until they developed specialized drop-ships and cargo transports. Quick and agile, the Stiletto is equipped with a pair of sensor counter-measures. Firstly, it has a jammer that causes a 3D penalty to opposing detection rolls, and secondly it has a scrambler, that tries to mask the stiletto's signature as a ship of another type, causing a 2D penalty to identification rolls, and if the scanning ship makes the base difficulty but not the penalty, it will believe that the stiletto is a ship of whatever type the captain had put in the scrambler.
After the Stiletto became obsolete, the scramblers and jammers were pulled out for components and for use in other ships. Many of the surviving ships were sold to pirates or smugglers, or were left on Shoran for parts or as training ships. After the fall of Shoran, few of these ships survived, and are highly sought after by members of the sub-legal community.
