Fermenter
This is a picture of my stainless steel conical fermenter. This is a 12.2 gallon fermenter made for 10 gallon batches. Most everyone has visited a microbrewery and have seen the large conical tanks they use for fermenters. The breweries use these because both the primary and secondary fermentations can be done in the same tank. Conical tanks make it easy to drop the trub out the bottom of the tank, or to save the yeast for repitching. Also the transfer of beer to the bottles or kegs can be done without having to siphon. The fermenter is made of 14 gauge seamless stainless steel.

This is a closer view of the bottom of the fermenter. The fermenter has a 60 degree sloping cone for easy trub and yeast removal. You can see the racking port (top valve) and yeast drain (bottom valve). The racking port is made so you can turn a bent tube inside the fermenter to ensure that you have clear beer that you are bottling or putting into your keg. You start with the tube pointed in the up position, as you open the valve and start dispensing the beer, turn the tube down. If the beer starts to become cloudy turn the tube up until the beer is clear again. Leave in this position until you have despensed all the beer.
The fermenter is removable from the stand for easy cleaning.
