Chapter 20
After about an hour and a half, AJ came running over to Nick. "Dude, you need to come here. It's your woman!"
Nick panicked and got up and went with AJ. Kevin and Brian just looked at them and trailed behind.
"Is she okay? What did you do to her AJ? TELL ME!" Nick was yelling.
"Dude, I don't know what happened…but…but, I was just looking at this awesome hat one of my favorite stores…it's called…Creations By Me…." AJ was telling Nick.
"GET TO THE POINT! WHAT IS WRONG WITH HEATHER!" Nick was still panicking.
They finally rounded the corner and walked into the store. Nick was taken aback by what he saw.
In front of him was the most beautiful site he had ever seen. I was dressed in a gorgeous pale green silk blouse, very low cut, accompanied by a long black silk skirt, (complete with high cut slit up the side). My hair had been pulled up into a very sexy twist, and I had on three inch heels that made me look much taller than I really was.
I blushed as I saw Nick's mouth drop. I think that if the other guys weren't holding him up, he would have passed out on the floor. AJ said, "Heather, walk around so he can really see you! You look so damn fine!"
I walked around the store, everyone looking at me. I was feeling a bit self conscious. I wasn't used to this attention at all. Nick walked over to me, still completely dumbstruck. He whispered to me, "Baby, you look just absolutely gorgeous. Do you like it?"
"I love this Nick, but I can't afford it." I whispered, very embarrassed. "Damn, I need to get a job…and bad too."
"Sweetheart, you can have anything you want. Just say it…and it is yours." Nick spoke softly.
I was feeling bad about spending Nick's money, I had always been self-sufficient before and this was not the time to start being a moocher. "Nick, but, I can't…"
"Dear, you look gorgeous in it. He obviously adores you in it. I think he will get it for you whether you like it or not." a kind voice said. Everyone turned and looked at the young lady standing behind the counter.
AJ spoke up first. "Hey, guys, I am sorry. I would like to introduce you to Dee. I came here a while back ago, and she helped me pick out some of the coolest stuff. You know that hat, the one with the tiger stripes on it? Well, she designed it, and it was a one of a kind creation." he gloated.
"Pleasure to finally meet you all." she said as she offered her hand to each of the guys. "I have heard so many things about you all. AJ has a way of talking about you when he is shopping." she finished, knowing that she had embarrassed him.
Brian, Howie, and Nick just looked at her and started to laugh. Kevin walked over and said, "I hope it was all nice."
"Oh, of course it was, Kevin." she amazed him by already knowing his name. "He says that you are one of the nicest guys in the world, and from the looks of it, one of the most handsome." she finished, blushing brightly.
"Um, thank you." Kevin said as he turned his head, slightly embarrassed.
The others just stood there, staring at the two of them. There was some sort of magic going on between them, and it was nice. The two of them just kept fixated on each others eyes.
"Ahem." AJ coughed.
Kevin and Dee just looked at everyone and started to laugh. They were both very embarrassed and couldn't help but laugh at the situation. Dee quickly recovered and spoke up.
"Now, Heather. I have a proposal to make. You said you wanted a job, and well, I have an opening. You could help me out here. I love your sense of style. And you look great in my creations. I think you will do great here. Provided that none of the guys mind of course." Dee finished.
"Are you serious? I have a job?" I was totally amazed at how nice this person was. She had only known me for about half an hour, and here she was, offering me a job in her very exclusive shop.
"Yes ma'am. Is that okay with you Nick?" Dee asked Nick politely.
"Of course I don't mind Heather. Thank you Dee for doing that. I think you will love working here. There is only ONE condition. You let me buy that outfit for you, and then wear it home for me." he said with a sly smile.
"Umm, Dee, I think I will be wearing this outfit out of here." I said, as I gazed at Nick. I was so happy, things were finally starting to feel good to me. Nick was fixated on me and couldn't take his eyes off me. I just kept staring right back at him. Then he embraced me, and we shared a very passionate kiss, not caring that everyone was watching.
"I think we should take the two love-birds home before they start to get it on, right here in the store!" AJ exclaimed.
Nick and I just giggled and agreed. Nick paid for the outfit, and Dee helped me remove all the sensor tags out of it. She handed me a bag with my other clothes in it. We were just about to walk out of the store when Kevin stopped.
Kevin looked back at Dee and said, "Um, are you available for dinner, let's say, tomorrow night?"
"Yeah, sure." was all she could mumble. She was totally in shock that he had asked her to dinner and was left speechless.
"Then I will call you tonight with all the details." Kevin finished as he leaned in and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
Dee handed him a card with her phone number on it as she stood there
watching them all. Everyone gathered their things, and finally made
their way to the limo. It had been a good day all around, and I finally
felt like things in the world were starting to go my way.
