Chapter 54
Nick and I had arranged for a private yacht to cruise us around the Caribbean Sea for our honeymoon. Nick was so excited that we would be out on the ocean for our two weeks. Although the weather was cool, it was a pleasant time of year to be out on the water. Not only was it breezy and cool, but the sun shined the entire time.
“Nickolas, I am so glad we are here. It is just beautiful.” I said.
“This is exactly how I hoped it would be. The ocean is my most favorite place...and who better to share it with but you? Are you comfortable enough?” he asked, concerned about my motion sickness that kept me up half the night.
“Yeah, I think I will survive. The worst part is, I can’t take anything to make it go away. But, I wouldn’t want this trip to be any different.” I said with a smile.
We spent hours lounging on the deck while watching the waves. Nick asked if I would like to get in the water, but, I was too afraid to go in the water. After the last time I got in the water...I was afraid of sinking.
“Babe, look at me...I am a watermelon. I would sink right to the bottom.” I said as I laughed.
“No you’re not! And trust me, I wouldn’t let you sink!” he said as he leapt off the side of the yacht.
“Nickolas Gene! You are gonna get yourself killed doing stuff like that.” I yelled as I watched him swim around in the water.
It was hysterical to see him swimming like a fish all over the place. Despite the fact that he was turning a beautiful shade of blue, he kept on swimming. He would dive under the water, and then appear on the other side of the boat. I was laughing so hard when I saw his head pop up, covered in seaweed.
“Nothing says love like a bundle of seaweed babe! I love you honey!!” He yelled from the water.
“I love you too!” I said as I leaned over the edge.
Nick climbed up out of the water, back onto the boat...and gave me a huge hug. In the process, he soaked me from head to toe and found it quite amuzing to see me making fuss over it.
“Nick, look at me...I’m all wet. Now I have to go and change...” I said as I sighed.
“Oh gee, that’s too bad Heather...that means you will have to get undressed from those soggy clothes...and well, that is just a shame.” Nick said sarcastically.
I looked at him, knowing full well what he was getting at, and smiled. He grabbed me by the hand and walked me to our stateroom. As he sat me down on the bed, he told me he would pick out an outfit for me to wear.
“Let’s see, something comfortable, something sexy, or something...Wait...this is it!” he said as he pulled out a white satin gown, the one that he helped me pick out from Victoria’s Secret. “This looks really good on you sweetheart...and well, it doesn’t really matter anyway, cuz it will be coming off later.” He said as he laughed.
He then went to the bathroom, and turned on the hot water in the bathtub. As I rounded the corner, I could make out the subtle hint of Freesia. Nick had put bubble bath into the water...and then set up candles all around the bathroom. The soft glow of candlelight made the whole scene so romantic. Nick then took me by the hands...and led me into the bathroom. He gently helped me removed my wet clothes and then watched as I climbed into the water.
I instantly relaxed as the hot water soothed my body. The bubbles were like soft clouds all around me. I leaned back and closed my eyes. Nick got up and walked away...disappearing for a few minutes. I was so relaxed, I didn’t notice when he returned. I soon felt a soft touch brushing my hair away from my face. Nick sat there next to me, holding a tray with two champagne flutes and strawberries.
“I wanted to share this with you sweetheart. I know you can’t have champagne, so I got sparkling white grape for us to share.” He said softly.
I was blushing as he took a strawberry and teased my lips with it. I was such a sensual feeling. After Nick and I enjoyed the tray of goodies, I gave him a sly look and asked, “You aren’t going to sit out there while I am enjoying this wonderfully hot bath, are you?”
“Well, I was thinking I would go and watch some tv while you finished up in here.” He said as he pretended to walk away.
“Nick?”
He then turned around, and walked over to me. His eyes looked over me and he smiled. The next thing you knew, he was sitting behind me in the bathtub. I could feel his body against mine, and it excited me beyond belief. I couldn’t help myself as my heart started to race. He wrapped his arms around me as I leaned back against him. We just sat back in the bath for what seemed like a lifetime...one that is filled with happiness and joy.

We had a whole two weeks to ourselves, time that was very well spent. We knew that with the grueling tour schedule ahead of us, it was going to keep us apart. I would travel with Nick as much as possible, however, after about seven months into my pregnancy, I knew I wouldn’t be able to. The traveling would not be good for me or the baby, and Nick understood. He would come home as much as possible, and at the end of April, he would take some time off in anticipation for the birth. We sat and talked about all of this while on the honeymoon. Hell, we already knew the “sex” part pretty well. We would giggle about how we proved to the world that waiting until our “wedding day” was just not possible.
It wasn’t that sex didn’t cross our minds constantly, it was just that Nick and I knew that this time together needed to be well spent. And that meant doing everything that we loved. I spent lots of time sitting on the edge of the boat watching him swim and dive. It was so sweet to see him dive under...and then reappear with beautiful shells for me. At one point, Nick thought it would be funny to dive and swim under the boat to the other side. He was under so long that I got worried...and was about to jump in the water, when he suddenly appeared behind me, kissing my neck softly. He had a way of surprising me by climbing back up the other side of the boat.
We spent Christmas day, pulled up to shore. He and I took a picnic basket full of holiday treats and a big warm blanket. We set up on the beach for a moonlight Christmas dinner and exchanged the small gifts with each other. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened Nick’s present to me. He got me something that I could treasure for my life.
I held in my hand a white gold chain with a heart shaped pendant. On the front was an engraving that said: “Always and Forever”. On the back said, “with all my heart and soul, Love, Nickolas Gene”.
It was simply beautiful and all I could do was cry softly as I tried to whisper thank you. Nick leaned over and kissed me gently, and then opened his gift from me. I had given him a gold bracelet that had an engraving: “Faith and Love, Always and Forever.” And on the backside was my name. I could see a smile form across his face and a twinkle in his eyes. He whispered “Thank you” and then kissed me again.
After finishing our picnic dinner, we made our way back to the boat and went to the sitting room to finish opening up gifts. We exchanged cds, movies, other things. I had gotten him a video game for his Sony Playstation, and he immediately ran to the entertainment room to play it. I followed in and sat down on the chair to watch. It was intriguing to watch him play. I had never seen so much concentration on one thing. He played the game and every so often would turn around and blow me a kiss. I finally got up and sat on the floor next to him. I picked up the controller and decided to try and play against him. We played South Park Rally for hours, changing characters and racing all the different races.
“NICK! You don’t play fair! Quit throwing Mr. Hanky at me! If you don’t stop, I’m gonna send Terrance and Phillips after you!” I yelled as we raced Cartman and Kenny through the streets of South Park.
“You can’t win! Never!” Nick hollered. “I won’t let you!”
“Then I will have to play my own way.” I said matter-of-factly.
Nick looked at me with suspicion, but soon returned to the game. I sat there for several minutes, continuing the game, while carefully watching Nick. I suddenly leaned over as he was concentrating and blew in his ear. He jumped and ran Cartman off the road...and with this...I drove Kenny right passed him to victory! Nick jumped up and looked at me.
“You cheated! That’s not fair!” Nick sulked.
“What, do you want me to make it up to you? I mean, I can do that.” I said slyly.
“There is nothing you can do to make it up...” he said, as his pouting continued.
“Okay, fine then, then you can sleep on the couch as long as you’re sulking like that.” I got up and walked away, trying not to laugh.
“Fine.” Nick said.
“Fine.” I turned my head and then walked to the observation deck.

back in Orlando...
“Kevin!” Dee hollered out.
“Yes dear.” He yelled from down the hallway.
“I found your green shirt, it was hanging in the laundry room. Do you want me to iron it before you pack it?” she asked.
“No, that is fine. It’s just gonna get wrinkled anyway. Umm, I just need to throw that in the suitcase, and then we can head to the airport.” Kevin finished.
Minutes later they were on their way to the airport to see Kevin off to Kentucky. Dee wanted to go, but had clients that wanted to meet with her the day before Christmas. There were no available flights left for her to take, so, she would just stay behind and call Kevin everyday. As they pulled up to the airport, a tear streamed down Dee’s face.
“You know Kevin, I am going to miss you so much. I know you will only be away for a week, but it feels like forever. It just seems like every time there is a holiday, I have to schedule my vacation around work. I hate to not be with you.” She said softly.
“Hon, it’s okay. I know that you have to work, just like me. We will have time to spend when I get back. Please don’t be upset. It’s just that I promised my family that I would actually be there for Christmas this year.” He replied.
She walked him to his gate and then kissed him goodbye. They hugged each other and then Kevin made his way to the plane. She stood at the windows in the gate area to watch as the plane backed out and waved at him. She could see his hand waving in front of that little tiny window next to his seat. As the plane took off, she found her way back to the car and on her way home.

“Are you still sulking babe?” I asked Nick as he sat in a lounge chair on the deck.
All I heard was a mumble. I was a bit hurt that he was acting like this.
“Maybe it was a bad idea that I got that game for you.” I said softly and then walked away. For some reason, I was feeling really upset, and started to cry. I ran off to the bedroom and laid down for a bit.
After a short time, I rolled over to see Nick standing there. I quickly wiped the remaining tears from my eyes and said “Hi” to him. He walked over, sat on the bed and then kissed me on the forehead.
“Heather, I am so sorry. I just take my games seriously. I didn’t mean to be like that. I know that you were only playing and trying to be funny, and I screwed up again.” Nick whispered.
“Well, you still have plenty of time to make it up to me.” I replied and then blushed.
“Oh good, well, let’s waste no time.” He said as he leaned gently over me and started to kiss my neck.
The rest of the night was all a blur to us. I always found Nick’s
gentleness to be so romantic. He was absolutely the most handsome
and caring man I had ever known, and it sure felt good to be in his life
forever. We shared a night of passion that we never wanted to end.
Our life was so perfect, and it seemed like nothing could take it away
from us.
