After only 5 days of wrenching on ANDRE the GIANT SCOUT, it made it's maiden voyage to Gilmer, Texas. This is the home of the Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area. It is mostly hill climbs and tight trails with a few trees. There are also open areas to ride motorcycles or 4-wheelers. We met the A&M Off-Road group out there at lunch time and wheeled for the day. Our group from Plano was Justin, Clint, Mike, Cameron, Barret, Fred, and me. I was in Scout, Fred towed ANDRE, and Barret drove his heep.

The whole group posing for a shot.

The Scouts waiting to kick arse. This was a record number of Scouts for a TAMOR event, The number of Scouts and heeps were even.

First obstacle of the day, a short hill climb.

Up, Up, and fuel delivery problems...

Mark giving me a tug so that I can get back down to the bottom to make another run at it. I made it the second time with no problems

Look at me go

Barrett posing

This is the hard top eater of on the trail we ran, It leaned you way over into the tree, I was much closer than Fred when I did it. This trail was a 3 diamond (on a scale of 1-4)

Brandini, at the same point, but no problem with his hard top.

Justin and Barrett making it look easy.

Barrett cruising out of a creekbed. When I ran this same part I hit the stump that is in front of Barrett's left front tire and got a little sunshine under the tire, kinda scary...

Brandini, navigating some big rocks down in the creek bottom.

This was after ANDRE had shut down for a few minutes for no visible reason. It fired up and ran just as smooth as it had before, but with a little more leakage onto the exhaust. This produced a neat smokeshow for everyone.

Using the 4.56's to their limit

There were plenty of little obstacles to play on, and here are Fred and Barrett doing just that.

Fred showing ANDRE's powers of descent.

This is where ANDRE had climbed a little bit higher than thumper on this hill. We then let Brandon in on the secret that we had a front locker in ANDRE. I am sure that he wondered how Fred was navigating everything Brandon did with less lift and 31x10.5 street slicks. It was quite funny, to us anyway...
