This darling vintage outfit consists of an ice skating dress, panties to match, a tie cap, and cute little mittens. The one my floss hair AC Sweet Sue is wearing was purchased on eBay. There are too many rows of crochet between neckline and the skirt hem, so it fits the larger 15 inch doll much better than the 14 inch Mary Hoyer.

This roller skating outfit consists of a onesie (puffed sleeved shirt and attached panties) which buttons up the back and a jumper with cute straps . I made the outfit in the 1980's with old wool baby yarn. The doll modeling it is a 14 inch unmarked compo doll.

Mary Hoyer also called this pattern "Travel Costume". This little costume should have a suitcase in the pic, but I wasn't able to get upstairs to find it. This little bag, interestingly enough, has the same stripes as many of the Mary Hoyer full sized trunks. The hat is different from the one shown in the photo, but it is still cute. It has a little pom-pom on top. This doll is one I rescued and is marked with the circle Made in USA and has a replaced wig. The outfit is vintage, and I purchased it here on ebay. I added the mittens on a string - she kept losing hers. She has a buffalo nickel and a wheat penny in her little purse.

Mary Hoyer also called this pattern"A Dutch Treat". The model is an unmarked Mary Hoyer walker. The wooden shoes were souvenir shoes that I carved out so the feet would fit. The three piece crocheted outfit is one I purchased from eBay. It consists of a jumper with full skirt, a two toned blouse that laces up the front, and a cute little hat. The hat, unfortunately, was not with the outfit.

This knitted swim suit is quick and easy to make. Unfortunately, the best part of the outfit is the specially made to order rubber bathing cap, which I don't have. I'll just keep looking for it.

Mary Hoyer also called this pattern "The Cow Boy and Girl". "Nancy" is Effanbee Anne Shirley doing the modeling honors. She is wearing the boots I received as a little girl, but the spurs broke off many years ago. A lady knitted and crocheted all the Mary Hoyer patterns back in 1970 - 1980 for a program she did for her doll club. Her knitting gauge was off on this one - the outfit is too large for a Mary Hoyer, but still beautifully made.
"Dick" is wearing the outfit my mother knitted back in the fifties, and is wearing another set of boots I got in the 1960s. They still have the spurs, but they aren't very visible. This cowboy outfit was always a favorite of mine - my friend down the street had the cowgirl outfit - but as you can see from the pic, the girl doesn't get the guns. I had guns with mine, but they are long lost. These are a replacement.

I looked for this suit for years. I must have scrolled the listings a thousand times, and was thrilled when I got it in the mail. It is a beautifully crocheted 5 piece outfit. Hat, muff, coat-jacket with peplum, skirt, and panties. This Mary Hoyer has her original wig set and is wearing brown oxfords that I love now, but hated as a child. The outfit is trimmed with teeny pearl buttons and a curly yarn.

My mother knitted the outfit for Mary Hoyer in the late 70's. We lived in NJ at the time, and I was whining because Mary didn't have any new clothes. So, she knitted this two piece one. Soon after, she sent the Mary Hoyer pattern booklets to me so I could make them myself. :) I don't know why she didn't make the hat - maybe she ran out of yarn? The gold skates are old, and I put on her mittens because her fingers were cold.
This 14 inch hard plastic doll is by Deluxe Reading - I got her on eBay from a seller named Helen, so that is what I have always called her. She is now living with Janine in Australia.

The model is, of course, my very own marked hard plastic Mary Hoyer that I received for Christmas in 1949. My mother made this dress from a Mary Hoyer Kit. Because as a child, I did dolly laundry often the outfit has shrunk over the years. The umbrella is a replacement obtained at a local doll show after searching for over 30 years. The little pink shoes have faded to peach over the years, but the center snap still works. This is my most favorite Mary Hoyer outfit.
