Fleetwood Mac Attack
July 23 [12:00 EDT] -- Fleetwood Mac is back.
The classic seventies band reunited in June for a number of shows in Los
Angeles, and re-signed to Reprise Records. Those performances will be featured
on a new record, called "The Dance," which is due out on August 19th, and on
an MTV special, airing August 12th, 16th and 17th. There's also a home video,
DVD and laser disc of those performances, also called "The Dance," set for a
September 23rd release date.
The band -- which consists of Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Christine
McVie, John McVie, and Stevie Nicks -- is planning a 45-day tour this fall --
15 years after their last tour together.
This year happens to mark the twentieth anniversary of the release of
Fleetwood Mac's classic album, "Rumours." There's talk of a tribute album,
with artists like Jewel and the Cranberries doing covers of songs from the
"Rumours" album, produced by one of Fleetwood Mac's managers. But that rumor
hasn't been confirmed.
