Awakening
by
Larry Bryan
Stepping out of the
apartment I feel Christmas
for the first time this year,
the chill air and assaulting
wind attempting to penetrate
the barrier of cloth and
flesh which God, family, and
myself have so graciously
provided to and for me.
Luckily outer nature is
unsuccessful as I feel my
flesh swell and constrict to
further contain my inner warmth
and protect me once again
from the battle raging between
the seasons on this
December day on my way
to Don Pablo's with Jonathan,
Travis, and Sarah.
Merry Christmas
