I from my experience and communication with other "New Agers" have to be the only free thought type of person who does not condone gun control. Now my Alchemist friends, and my Buddhist friends will raise an eye brow and wonder how this can be. Well I have always looked at life, and its events with the big picture in mind. And in the long run I see gun control as a gradual dissemination of the Peoples rights to protect themselves, not from each other, rather from the state!
In all communist governments the very first thing they do is to take away and abolish all weapons, the reason they do this is so that the people cannot rise up against the sate if they do not like how the state runs its nation. Cuba, Russia, and China have all abolished guns, and China went so far as to not only get rid of the guns, but also to ban all martial arts. I guess they figured that their land, rich with grandmasters, could, with their bare hands, rise up against communist China and take it over especially with what the Chinese government has done to the poor innocent peaceful Tibetan monks.
Here in America we have a constitution that protects our rights to bare arms,we hold this law of the land very sacred. But the U.S. government--actually the kingdom of Bill Clinton, who with the line item veto made himself our king-- is slowly but surely etching away this right as they have others. They have taken away free speech with the advent of the F.C.C. and have taken away separation of church and state, and freedom of religion, and extremely opposed the constitution by forming a bank of America to which the constitution says shall never be formed for fear of another monarchy.
People wonder how a Buddhist can be in favor of a killing weapon? The answer is old yet true. Guns do not kill people, people kill people. I cannot and will not be responsible for someone else' actions against another human being. That's as ridiculous as me being punished because my neighbor John molested a child! It is not my responsibility, and furthermore, do people honestly expect an invention to disappear? You cannot beat evolution! We have arrived at a point where we made a weapon to murder in a split second without much skill, it will never go away. Anyone whose lived in or around a ghetto will tell you the same. See in the ghetto they cannot always afford guns, so what they did was make something called a zip gun. It's a home made gun that will kill you instantly! Now if street gangs can make homemade guns, then what do you think making dumb laws will do?!
In this country we have made allot of progress( and all things must be considered progress). When a mother dies in labor and gives birth to a child before she goes, the family says she died so that the child may live. Nothing is all bad or good. Weapons will bring an answer as all things will. It's just not time for that answer yet. We now have nuclear weapons which has this world by the throat, all countries including third world nations have these weapons of global destruction and can launch any time they feel like it! Maybe out of this madness and chaos love will be found? I do not know. But you cannot fight evolution, it will occur no matter what. You take away our guns and we reinvent them. You take away that and we study deadly martial arts techniques, you take away that and we throw rocks like they do in Israel!
There will always be a weapon the choice is yours to use your more powerful weapon which is your mind. And my friend use it wisely. Educate, and be one with the all, and try not to make hate and destruction, for there is enough of this in the world. And my friend do not take away the power of the people to revolt, for even the Shaolin monks recognized that total peace cannot save you from wrongness and persecution, and is the reason they had the fighting kung fu monks of China. Don't let our government take away our only shot at owning our own soil... Free from the few who own the thought machine. Because once they take away our guns and our knives and our martial arts, they will take away our ability to think, then my friends we are truly an enslaved people!
Be good my friends!
