Arizona Newspaper pulls comic

The Arizona republic has pulled an editorial cartoon that show three Texas tragedies, Waco, Jasper and College Station.
The paper recieved thousands of calls from people who were upset with the comic. There are only three frames to the comic, each devoted to one topic, but people people were not happy with it. The cartoonists, Steve Benson, has defended the cartoon, but the newspaper has pulled it and taken it off of their web site as well.

Louisiana man jailed for murder

Police have arrested Calvin Scott Ellender for the shooting death of his mother. Joyce Ellender was found with a bullet wound to the chest and rushed to Cal Cam Hospital in Calcasieu Parish Louisiana. Information on why the shooting occured is still not clear, but the son is in jail.

November 23, 1999

Los Angeles police find three brothers dead

Moorpark, California police made a discovery on Monday night that was truly unreal. Three brothers shot to death in their beds, their mother barely alive having massive head trauma and an infant unharmed.
The mother, 42 year old Cora Caro, is expected to survive. Police have questioned the father, 52 year old Xavier Caro.
The shooting occured late Monday night.

November 24, 1999

Texas road rage murder?

One man is dead and one woman hurt after an apparent road rage murder in Schertz, Texas.
Police are looking for two men, one of which is the shooter. The man killed in the attack was dead at the scene. The woman was injured when her vehicle was hit after the by the victim's car.

Cop fired for doing the right thing

A Jefferson Parish, Louisiana detective was fired today for doing his job.
The firing stems from Detective Phil Ramon blowing the whistle on Lietenant Sue Rushing for destroying evidence in a case.
The firing caught the attention of the FBI and the sherrifs office recieved a letter from the FBI saying the dismisal was to stronf of a punishment and it sends the wrong message.
The U.S. attorney also joined in writing a letter to the Sherrif's office.
