"Oh, hi honey. Hello Teddy. What are you two up to today?"
Sweetheart took in a deep breath. "Mom, we need to talk to you. Where's Daddy?"
"He's in the den sweetie. Is everything okay?"
"Could you just get him and meet us in the livingroom?"
Cherry watched as her little girl left the room, closely followed by Teddy who hadn't made eye contact with her even once. "I know what this must be about" she thought to herself. "So this was it. The time has come and they've decided to get married. They must be here to get our blessing. But they're still so young! Pull yourself together Cherry she's not a child anymore, she's a young woman and capable of making her own decisions." Cherry took off her pink and white striped apron and went to retrieve her husband from the back room. She wasn't ready for this day at all, but knew it'd have to come some day.
Cherry and Steel sat down together on the couch opposite the loveseat Teddy and Sweetheart were seated upon. "So, what's up?" Steel asked patiently after a few silent moments went by. The two young lovers looked at each other again and joined hooves as they searched for the right words, and the courage to use them.
"Well, sir, Sweetheart and I are gonna...uhh..."
"Speak up son we're not in Church." Cherry smiled at her husband's words. She could barely contain her excitement as she awaited the rest of the news.
Teddy decided he'd just have to blurt it out or they'd be there all day. "We're gonna have a baby. Sweetheart's pregnant."
Steel's mouth dropped as Cherry appeared faint. They all remained silent for what seemed like an eternity. "You're WHAT?!? How can this be? You're only a child! You're not even married!! What on earth were you two thinking?!?"
"But daddy..."
"Sweetheart, I'm so disappointed in you. I thought we raised you better than that. I knew that boy was no good for you from the start." Sweetheart's eyes filled with tears that soon poured down her pale cheeks. Steel stood up and turned his attention toward Teddy. "And you. You can't even take care of yourself, let alone a child! This is all your fault! Get your hands off my daughter and get out of my house!!"
"Daddy NO!" Sweetheart screamed through her sobs as she jumped up to run after Teddy.
Steel grabbed his histerical daughter and held her tight. "You're never to see that boy again, is that clear? IS THAT CLEAR??" Cherry pulled Sweetheart from his grasp and gave him a stern look before going after her daughter. Sweetheart ran to her room and slammed the door closed, dropping down on her bed which was quickly dampened by her tears.
"Sweetheart? Honey, are you alright?" Cherry slowly opened the door to her daughter's room and sat down on the bed. "Oh Sweetheart..." She softly stroked her sobbing daughter's mane, moving it away from her face. Sweetheart looked up and threw her arms around her mother. She cried for hours before finally falling asleep in her mother's arms.
