"Hey man, what's up?"
Teddy didn't even look up, "He's absolutely right ya know." Ace sat down silently next to his old friend. Surprised he'd volunteered even that much info so quickly. It usually took at least a good ten minutes of badgering for him to open up at all when he was like this. And if it didn't happen in that ten minutes, it wasn't gonna.
"I never have been able to do anything right, I always screw everything up. So why should they think I'd be any different now? It is all my fault, I got her into this mess." Now Ace knew exactly what he was talking about. They must've finally told Sweetheart's parents about the baby. Obviously it didn't go well.
"What the hell are you talking about? You can't honestly tell me you believe all that shit. How can you let something Sweetheart's parents said out of aggrivation keep you two apart? They just needed someone to blame and chose you. Whether or not they want to accept it, you guys love each other. You have to let them know that."
"Naw man, it's no good. I already tried that about an hour ago. Her father threatened me."
"What?!? How?"
"If I ever come near her or their house again he'll have me arrested...for raping his daughter."
"That's bullshit!!"
"Yeah, but who do you think they'd believe? A reject like me, or one of the most respected members of the pony community?"
"That's stupid though, Sweetheart would never go along with that."
"Don't be so sure. Even if she did finally decide to go totally against her stupid parents they'd just make up some shit about her being traumatized and irrational or something from it. I know their type too well."
"But if you just talked to Sweetheart I'm sure she'll realize she can't allow her parents to get in the way of her life anymore. She's nearly an adult now after all. Too bad her birthday isn't till next month though, they still legally have some control over her."
"Gee, thanks for pointin' that out Ace, I hadn't thought of that."
"Dude, you better not be goin' sarcastic on me again."
"Man shut up and stop tryin' to cheer me up!"
"Well if you weren't so pessimistic all the time I wouldn't have to. Why can't you try and look on the bright side sometimes?"
"Bright side? Bright side?!? Do you see a fuckin' bright side to all this?? I've screwed up Sweetheart's perfect life forever, her parents have me on the Top 10 Most Wanted list, and we can never be together again because I'm a fuckin' idiot!!" Teddy got up and galloped off, he'd had enough of this "talking" shit. He was right, it didn't help at all. Whoever had made up that crap must've been out of their gourd. Now he only felt worse and the situation even more out of control.
