Teddy was forced down into a hard wooden chair as the officer sat down at his desk to write up the report and sign-in his prisoner. After about thirty minutes of being completely ignored in the most uncomfortable spot imagionable he was jerked back up to his feet. He was then drug through the customary BAL test, finger printing, mug shots, etc with the officer rarely breaking his intimidating silence. The officer seemed aggrivated further by the fact that he had to waste his time and energy directing this inexperienced prisoner through everything. For some odd reason he didn't seem to already know exactly what was expected of him.
This whole ordeal was becoming a bit much to handle, after all Teddy had never been in quite this much trouble before. The whole world really was against him this time and everyone treated him like a hardened criminal. No one would ever take his word over that of the almighty Steel Spencer and he'd never see Sweetheart again. Nothing would ever be the same. All he could think about was how hopeless everything seemed and how much he just wanted to be put out of his misery. If you misbehave enough while they're taking you in, can they just skip to the lethal injection part?
Next he was led into yet another room where an old, dirty beige phone hung on an unpainted concrete wall. "Five minutes." The officer instructed gruffly.
"Well, I don't really have anyone to call."
"Look, I don't fuckin' care if you just listen to the damn dialtone for five minutes straight! Just pick up the fucking phone so I can get this over with and get the hell outta here. My shift ended ten minutes ago."
Teddy angrily glared back at the rude officer as he picked up the receiver. All he wanted was to talk to Sweetheart just once more, but he knew that was virtually impossible now. The only other person he could possibly think of to come bail him out was Ace. He quickly dialed the familiar numbers and bit his lip when Ace's mother answered telling him Ace was out with Star for the night. He left the number for the police station with her, refusing to tell her where he was calling from. Teddy hung up before Ace's mother could get out any more curious questions.
The short-tempered officer then pushed him over to a nearby barred door. The door was buzzed by another officer enclosed in a small room surrounded by reinforced glass as both officer and prisoner stepped through. The noise level rose dramatically as they made their way down the long corridor of cells. Through all the threats, insults, spitting, and sexual offers Teddy somehow managed to keep his eyes forward, escaping any direct eye contact with them. The officer came to a stop and unlocked a cell already occupied by three extremely angry looking individuals. He removed the handcuffs and threw Teddy in, locking the door behind him.
"Hey wait! Isn't there supposed to be a special place for those just waiting to make bail??" Teddy glanced back nervously at his three cellmates, positive they were all convicted serial killers.
The officer stopped and turned around to walk slowly back to the cell he'd left Teddy in. "Oh I'm sorry, it's full tonight. You'll have to stay in here till you make bail."
"WHAT?!? How can it be full?"
He walked up to the bars and got right in Teddy's face. "Truth is I don't take kindly to perverted rapists. I have a teenage daughter at home. You can fuckin' rot in hell for all I care." With that the officer turned and walked back down the corridor, slamming the door on his way out.
Teddy finally remembered to blink as he heard a noise behind him and slowly turned around to face his three new captors. "Oooo, get aload o' the kid's credentials fellas. We got us a genuine junior rapist here. Not a bad start kid." Teddy backed up against the cold metal bars as they all moved in closer.
"What are you so nervous about? I've done a bit of that in my time too, still haven't convicted me of any of it though. But you won't tell anyone, will you?" Teddy's eyes shifted nervously from each of their faces as they closed in around him. "This isn't really happening is it?? Oh god, just strike me down now!"
"LIGHT'S OUT!!" Someone yelled from down the hall just before the entire enclosure went pitch black.
"Please?"
