The small dangling cowbell jingled as the glass door to the Ponyland Mini-Mart swung open. The store clerk looked up from the register while he rang up a young stranger.
"Hey guys, great game last night!" the clerk heartily yelled toward the rambunctious group.
"Yeah, were there any doubts?" Ace yelled back toward his fellow teammates. Teddy, Spinner, Rocket, and Dandy loudly expressed their undying faith in the team as they each headed off in their own directions.
The young newcomer sighed and rolled her eyes at the cocky jocks as she collected her change. "Geez, they're the same no matter WHERE you are!" she thought to herself. Her presence hadn't gone unnoticed by the team either. Each had paused momentariliy to check her out in his random search through the small shop for suitable junkfood to waste their money on. "Damn she's cute!" "Wouldn't mind seeing HER around again...." "Oh please be a new transfer student!" "That was definitely a glance! Yep, she loves me...."
Teddy stopped to check out the new shipment of Oakleys across from the register and then proceeded to try each pair on. The beautiful stanger picked up her bag of groceries and turned to leave just as Teddy stepped back to admire his new shades. CRASH! Two startled ponies, and one very full bag of groceries, fell to the floor. All eyes turned toward them as they struggled to get up, slipping on spilled dish soap mixed with flour. Each regained their footing and turned simultaneously to meet the other's angry glare.
"Hey! Why don't you watch where you're goin'!!" Teddy snapped.
"God, you JERK! Why don't you watch where YOU'RE going!!" the girl snapped back, shaking the flour out of her hair.
In their mutual fevered outrage their eyes met for the first time. A faint glimmer of familiarity coursed through both as they lost themselves in each other's eyes. The hysterical laughter surrounding them from amused onlookers faded, nothing else in the world existed. Their anger was replaced with confusion, a sense of de'ja vous. "Who was this strange girl?" Teddy wondered.
"Ummm....Hey, Teddy! Helloooo?? Snap out of it man!" Spinner somewhat broke through Teddy's blank stare.
"It's impossible..." Teddy answered.
"What?"
"It...it can't be...." the girl stammered.
"What?? Will somebody PLEASE clue me in here?" Spinner was getting aggitated.
Rocket leaned over and elbowed Spinner in his side, "I think they're in love!" he chuckled.
Teddy surpressed the urge to turn around and KILL Rocket. "Rose?"
"TEDDY??"
The equally puzzled onlookers saw a resemblance they hadn't noticed before. The same bright orange hair, mischeivous blue eyes....
"Teddy, what the hell is going on?!? Who's Rose?" demanded Ace as he turned to look at the strange girl again.
The two flour-covered ponies raised a left hoof in unison, locking them together. It had been a game they used to play. A disbelieving smile spread across their faces.
"It IS you!" they both replied simultaneously.
The confused crowd stood all around them now, not knowing what to make of the situation. A certain realization slowly kicked in....Teddy had a sister??
